Busy me

Been busy lately with all the assignments, presentations, test and all. Let me jus summarisewhat i did for the past week..
1- last sunday, was busy finishing an assignment for presentation the following day so, didn't go to Sentosa to support my sayang participated in the NUS Biathlon relay with TLR. They came in 15th position and i am very proud of them. They must be very happy with the results too, and i know that they had fun that day. :)

2- Monday- presentation on adolescent and we did quite badly, i think. I expectat a 'C' on this particular assignment cos' everybody except one, did not give their 110%. anyway.. we or some of us never did try to give their 100%.

3- Tuesday- Studied for clinical test. Took Micheal's advise that the test will not be that difficult and mostly common sense. Did not prepare earlier for the test cos' most of the time was used to prepare for earlier assignment/presentations. no excuse.. manage yr time,ct..

4- Wednesday- Sat for the clinical test at 9am. Very excited and true, the test was made easy but slightly tricky. Must read carefully, and you can't go wrong.

5- Thursday- Started on the essay : Reflection after completing Nursing Process -Case Study. it's all about how u prepare ur case study .. not about leadership , personality or whatnot! u have to put aside ur ego if u r trying to write this essay.

6- Friday- Went to Polyclinic for HEP B jab as early as 0830hrs but... what a waste of time, didn't get to have the needle cos, i didn't bring the ltr fr the doctor! Have to come back on Saturday. MY CLINICAL TEST RESULT: B-. and I think HS5102 case study-nursing process is B- too, based on Ms Low's comment as "good" and we tried to read the marks behind her blanco, & Anderson said it looks like 14/20..Ok lah..Thank God. How i wish i spent less time on presentation.

7- Saturday - went to the Polyclinic again with the ltr of cos. Was there at 0830hrs and only called for the jab almost at 11am.

Today, I was the the library fr noon to 8pm. I finished the essay on Reflection and it has been a very long time I ever wrote anything serious academically . I am not comfortable with it. I hope i won't disappoint my group.
This coming Thursday, there's Nursing Competentcy test. And Thursay nite, leaving for KL, and yet, I have not been running. Oh my god.... how, man?
Coming back from KL, Bio-Test awaits for me on Thursday and 2 assignments to prepare due on week 13 and 14.. I am so lost in my own world. The blood vessels in my head are going to burst!!! God, pls give me strength.

Sleepy...

Fine tuned HS 5102 Nursing Diagnosis and Interventions Presentation, today. What's left to do is to have it printed on tranparencies. And, the photos of the dummy with IV line on it, to be printed in colour on transparency. Later will have to try to print the pic onto the tranparency with my Canon MPC190S. If cannot, then no choice la.. normal photo print and pass it around the class to show what's an IV is. The presentation will be at 2pm, this Friday.

Next, is to work on HS 5103- on Child Assessment:Adolescent - another grp presentation due on this coming Monday at 4pm. I think our topic is going to put the audience to sleep. I don't even know what we are doing, 1st of all, and I don't think I have contributed much for this assignment. For this presentation, we need a laptop, which none of us have one. We have video clips to show the class. So how? Just show the lecturer, personally, what we caught on my hp N6230. But i still have to burn the videos and pictures, jus in case, there's this kind soul would bring her laptop to school so that we can use it. Hey, I know it's heavy.. but i don't mind carrying it for u , if i get to use it, the whole day. Really, serious. .. please bring..

And lately, I have not been feeling good. Almost every night, coughed and have breathing difficulty in the morning. Also been feeling sad whenever think of Harry. Now.. i am tired and will take a nap.. waking up later to try print pic on transparency, burn the pics and video on cd.. and etc..

You are going to be missed badly..., Harry.

Yesterday, I received a sms from Kakak Kamaria.. telling me that she has arranged for her cat to be neutralised this Wednesday and requesting if she can take Harry this Sunday. Immediately, I felt so sad and actually cried in the lecture hall. I miss him already. Feeling terrible.. really cannot control myself...*sob* *sob*

I used to have a total of 6 cats. Their names are Tabbie, the mummy to Todd,Harry, Tinnie (adopted by Zanna),Kathy and Cookie (adopted by Serene, which passed away last year) and Allie, the stray-cat. Now 5 cats are living happily with me. We adopted Tabbie from one of the animal hospital 8yrs ago, and she ran away for a few days. But Kevin found her one morning, and caught her in the act and that was how we have that many cats. While Tabbie went missing, I picked up a stray kitten, and that's Allie, Kevin's favourite.
Zanna adopted Tinnie, 2 years ago. She felt that her female cat, Baby, needs a friend. Initally, I was afraid that both cats will fight when they were to meet eye to eye. And was afraid and sad for Tinnie. He had to cope and adjust to a different environment. It was sad to see him in the pet carrier, meowing or more like crying , as if he knew that we were going to leave him with someone else. But I thank god, both cats did not fight and got along very well from the begining. No problems at all. Baby really needed a friend, I guess.
Tinnie has always been the friendly and socialable male cat. He is the type that will sit on ur lap and purr and you will feel bad if u were to move away. He is so adorable and I am thankful to Zanna for keeping, caring and loving him. I miss him.

And now, as I write, Harry is lying next to the keyboard. I can't hold back my tears.. I am going to miss him real bad too. Harry is extra-ordinary. He will accompany me throughout the night, sitting beside me (and next to him, he has his brother, Todd), he then, would occasionally look up, meow and stretch out his paw to touch me, on my shoulder or face. That's how he calls out to us.
And I can never forget the way he massage on my tummy using his big paw while i lay down. While he's doing that, he's nose will get wet and the watery mucous will start to drip but he will try to lick it before it drip onto my tummy. He is such a unigue cat! He is going to his new home this Sunday night. My friend stays at Yishun and she welcomes me to visit Harry whenever I miss him. So sad..

Now.. who wants to adopt Kathy?

Run and swim..

Next Sunday, 20 Feb is the NUS Biathlon 2005 & Kevin will be participating. He will be swimming and the big boy, running. Swim 800m & run 5km.

This morning, we went to Sentosa together with TLR and FD.
TLR timed Kevin's swimming before he began running from Tanjong to Siloso and back. Running is not a problem for TLR, definately.. but it's Kevin's first time taking part in this sort of event, especially having to swim in sea water.. eeeuuu .. salty, and Kevin just started to brush up his swimming skill. But I think, he's alright la... he can do it. After today's 800m trial, hmmm very good leh..

It's not easy to swim in the open water with no line to guide u to swim straight. Looking at him swimming at Tanjong beach.. like heart pain like that...swim alone. If running, at least you can have someone next to you, can talk or listen to MP3.. but swimming.. wah cialat.. cannot have friend next to you.,,if have also, cannot talk, and no music!! If it's me~ swimming, I think I'll drown of loneliness.

On that day, be prepared for the crowd of swimmers splashing all over the place.. sure will kena kick one! I will be there with him as early as possible. Registration at 9am. Hope FD and family will be coming to support the super~men! and i kinda miss her mum's nasi lemak and the sambal .. shiok!

Talking about nasi lemak.. hey FD! Thanks for buying the Nasi Lemak ,and Sukaimi for driving us to Funan.

As for me, I jogged from Tanjong to Siloso and back, i followed the train trail route. I think it's about 4 km but less than 5km. Went off earlier than TLR.. cos he will definately cut me somewhere.. and yes, he did.. on my way back from Siloso. Seeing him run.. wah like nothing like that! Foohyuuh (is that how u spell it,TLR?) !!

Last evening, I ran , started from home, ran around the park to Safra, took abt 15mins, stopped at Safra to see Kevin at the pool. Then, continued running from Safra out to main road, to NorthPoint and back to Safra. I took 20mins. Calculated the jogging route, estimated to be abt 5.5km in all. Rested awhile by the pool before joining Kevin.

Just read Carine's blog, she and her running friends frequent Yishun stadium and recently they ran from Yishun to Admiralty. Maybe, one day i might bump into her. And one day, I really have to try to run from home to NYP. Calculated using Street Directory, it is estimated to be about 7km. There's one thing I may and will hate about running that way up to NYP is the long stretch of Lentor Avenue.. it's like never ending. But still, I hope to try one day.

2nd Day of Lunar New Year

Supposed to have Steamboat kind of style .. souppy and all.. but the DoDo's stall at Cold Storage was closed and so decided on grilling the marinated chicken, beef and prawns.. I like to see Sukaimi eat.. like very shiok like that. Why not?? Chicken is his favourite! Oh yah.. I forgotten to get Chicken Sausages. FD told us, while we were at East Coast during the charity run, he loves sausages, like small boy. Besides, eating chicken.. he also whack the Van Houten chocolates, cookies.. . and FD kept munching on the Swenson's chocolate cookies..and only then, I realised that the cookie is belly nice!!! I don't really like it at first or maybe, got no friend to eat with, so it doesn't taste or look nice.

Just look at my messy kitchen!!! Aiyoyoh... paiseh......

After makan, as usual...boys will be boys..

Before leaving to Alex's house, we took this photo using self timer.. took a few times jus to make sure everybody looked good.. **SMILE**

Very interesting evening at Alex's house, which was not planned. Sukaimi got an invitation via sms, and he asked if we would like to come along. So we did... *sibuk-sibuk*. Moktar and Zul was there earlier and they, especially Moktar, had lots of ghost stories to share and all other stuff. Funny people. We left Alex's house after the American Idol. Thanks Alex and Xin Nian Kuai Le!

Happy Lunar New Year!

This afternoon Kevin's family came over for reunion dinner. This year, we had it much earlier at 4pm because both Kevin's sisters had to leave early to have another reunion dinner with their in-laws, their 1st reunion dinner. Afraid that I may not have enough time to prepare and tidy up the house, I skipped the last lecture at noon.

On my way home, I sms-ed Chinese New Year greetings which was in Chinese..to my chinese friends.. here were some replies i got :)

Elliote: "Thanx!Happy new year 2 u too! Wah,ur chinese improve leaps+bounds, can read so many characters already:) Happy cooking!"

Joanne(ST): "wa.. you can read chinese ar.. thanks for the greetings anyway!happy holidays to you too!"

Irene(ST- my ex-EO):"tk u 4 the greetings. By the way,so many words u understand or not!"
CT replied: Haha... what u think! tdy skipped lecture to cook 4 the reunion late lunch..la..
Irene: Not a good student but definately a good wife who can cook though the food may not b nice hor...

As usual, I cooked for the family, which I really enjoy doing so. But this year's dinner was very simple, no "lo hei". I prepared Watercres Chicken soup, Steamed fish in Tom Yam Sauce, Stir-fried Veg with beef, more veg and buttered prawn with garlic. So how was it? Nice?... hmmmm I really don't know la, but my brother-in-law took second serving of my soup.. and said that he wants to attach his wife to me for OTJ- cooking lesson. Told her my secret recipe.. instant!.. hahaha not a secret anymore...

Normally, on chinese new year's eve, we will stay up till after midnight.. got meaning one, but not sure what was it.. but usually it has got to do with good luck or something like that. But as of right now, at this time, my sayang is sound asleep... he must be very tired...

Wishing all chinese friends a Happy Lunar New Year and to the rest..enjoy the 2-days break!

Run.. run .. everybody run.. 5,4,3,2,1.. let's Run!

Entering this post from the campus' e-plaza while Kevin is having his knees checked by final year student nurse-Physiotherapist.

Last Wednesday evening, Shiken and Isable came over to my place for a jog. Shiken had not been running for a long time but she managed to cover at least 500m and started walking. I told Isabel to go ahead & to meet us later at Safra. I showed her the route and it should cover close to 3km. (Isabel usually jogs around the track non-stop for 17 rounds, so I guess this 3km is chicken feat) As for me, I stopped at 1km, ran back to Shiken and joined her walking. As we power-walked, we talked about cars, keeping fit and swimming. We met up with Isabel abt 20mins later.

Last night, I ran my usual route around Yishun estate - approx 5km. It was a good run and the night was breezy. I took close to 35mins.

Somehow some lecture-mates got to know that I ran.. and they invited me to join them..of cos, I accepted it.. I roughly told them my running schdule and some are interested to join me.. wah..I didn't know there are people in the accelerated very "ON" into running too... "heng hao, heng hao"

So later this evening, Drago aka Kock Leong, Yoke-sun and some others, will be joining me running around the campus. wooahhh very excited.. I thought I have no running kakis in school.... but then.. now i worry about pace. Sekali, I cannot tahan how... cialat la.. paiseh.. lets see how..

Got to go for my clinical lab now... Today's topic: Body Mechanics...

Lagi not expecting it to be an A-

Today, we got our grades for the grp presentation which we did last Monday, the one that i worry so much... And it turned out to be good leh... an A-. Very happy. Thanks to everyone in the group, KL,Anderson, Yen and J. The better and smarter group scored A+ and it belonged to Isabel's group. Congrats!

Our presentations was not too wordy, very clear and simple, eventhough the theory which we picked, which was, the Orem's Self Care Deficit, was quite a complex one. Our lecturer was happy with the 2 examples on applications, presented by Kock Leong, good and relevant. Cheers to Kock Leong!!!! Well done, brother!

At first, I thought that we were going to get a C, and I will settle for that, cos our slides were too simple. But I guess, that was what the lecturer was looking for . Simple to understand and done in an informal way. Avoid using bombastic words. He was also looking for participation from the audience which was lacking..hmmm ok.. sir, that we will keep in mind & will have that in our next presentation. But how much can we do in 15-20 mins at max. ?

Having said that ....

That's my lady lecturer's favourite line... "having said that.... blah blah blah....
She is such a health freak... not that she would check on the quality of the food or assessing health factors or risks in relation to the food she's about to consume, she would actually SMELL THE PLATE, first!!! Having said that, while she was in India..she went on a diet.

Smell Urine!

Gosh! The boys were made to hold their bladder this morning till 1pm, so that we could have a sustantial amt of urine samples for the class to smell and to carry out some testing.

I volunteered to be the one to smell first while it was still fresh.. OMG, it's like fear factor..

After inhaling 2 different coloured urine, one is concentrated with bubbles and the other was as clear as water (it was J's) ... i ran to the basin to wash my hands and thereafter... u know la... i wanted to throw out! It was not disgusting actually.. the urine is supposed to be sterile. But I just couldn't take it... .

Guess what's next for testing? Don't need to think further....
