A new toy for me?

I used to have a Samsung Yepp MP3 player. Lend it to my dearest nephew and it was stolen in a mosque at Choa Chu Kang, during the Friday prayers. Hai.. such things happens in mosque, very disappointing. It was silver, slim and sporty. Always had it with me when I go jogging. Since it was gone, I do not get a replacement, eventhough i am always tempted to get one. Always been pastering Kevin for it but he says "NO" or " wait for better ones" and furthermore I still have my Sony NetMD.
I have to run with music. No music no shiok. So, I run listening to my MD.. I have to admit, it is bulky and heavy. Have to hold it all the time .. together with my aother bulky Mitsubishi 350 mobile phone, in a small pouch while running. It's like carrying a weight. A bit troublesome but no choice la... until... *drums rolling*.... ta..da!..... Kevin got me a new communication device, with MP3 in it!

So this is my lastest update!

It's the Nokia 6230. He hates my phone and just hated me complaining about having to carry the two gadgets. He thought it was a good buy cos' it gave away free 128MB SD-MMC card and being a max online customers, a $100 off the tag. Good deal? Well yeah.. So, now I got a new toy. Kevin always say " What CT wants, CT gets!" Am I spoilt or what?!

Right now.. I am busy ripping my music CDs to MP3 files.Very happy!!!

The next time I run, I just have to carry my one and only new device...
and the next time to go out, I don't need to put my hp to vibrate mode..
with this new toy, I won't miss any call while listening to my music, be it heavy metal, rock and whatever... woah.. shiok!

So anyone wants to buy my Sony NetMD? It is still in good condition. I hate to part with it cos' we paid almost $500 for it, 2yrs back. Well of cos, will not sell at that high price.. any takers?

Still sad over Cookie. Cried each time thinking about it. It wouldn't have ended up this way if Kevin and I decided to stick to our original plan for that day. I was all because of my clothes I was wearing which had the smell of my female cat, Allie. Cookie must be very angry with me for going into Serene's room. It actually followed behind me when I walked towards Serene's room. But I thought it was very normal. When I stepped into the room, it bit my foot and it was not the playfull sort. I complained to Mama.. while attempting to cool Cookie down, she was being attacked and everything happened too fast. Kevin and mama suffered cuts but I didn't. It was all because of me, my smelly cat's smell on my clothes, that had caused Cookie to behave like a wild cat. Can never forget this day. No matter how sad I can be.. nothing compares to Serene's. I hope she is coping well. I am terribly sorry.

We love you, Cookie.

Our family cat died yesterday. Read on @ Kevin's journal.

I continued tutoring Q, a P2 kid this week. Very disappointed with her cos she didn't do any of my homeworks. Have to motivate her to practice maths. Very weak. Btw, I hate the teaching style they children adopt from school these days like counting forward and backwards to solve the addition and substraction sums. It actually make them confused. What if the kid has got sequential problem.. they won't be able to count the number line right when counting backwards. This is what happened to this kid of mine. A simple subtraction sum like 10 minus 9, she needs to rely on counting backwards. And how much I tried to explain to her and to change the method of solving the sums, it won't work at this moment. It would create more confusion. This week is going to be hell for her cuz I am going to drill her, assessment after assessment. Exam in 2weeks time and after that, I will take a break.

Sms-ed Lu Ting yesterday and we decided to meet up this Sunday. It was her first paying job and wanted to get something for her mum back in China. She'll be getting her pay this Saturday from Adecco Employment, that's why. But Robinson's paying me on the 28th. She has been in S'pore for 6 years and is in her 1st yr at the Republic Polytechnic. I wonder how is Aslinda doing? Will give her a call later.

Staying Active.

You seen it on TV and shown on the LCD screen at our MRT's platforms. I am talking about the advertisement when you see Zoe Tay climbing the stairs instead of taking the elevator, to promote healthy life style by exercising at least 30mins a day and to eat right. 30mins a day! With the kind of busy lifestyle S'poreans are, once or twice a week for that 30mins may sound practical. But of course, there are some who really does workout or exercise everyday for 30mins more or less. Ask yourself now, have you done any form of exercise today, or yesterday? If you are thinking of doing so tomorrow, then that's a good start!

Besides exercising and staying active, eating really well does matters. There is this guideline in the Food Pyramid which can be followed so that we get the widest range the nutrients our body needs. The Pyramid is an outline of what to eat each day. It is not a rigid prescription, but a general guide that lets you choose a healthful diet that's right for you. What you eat today can make all the difference when you get older.
The advertisement is to create awareness to all to remind the importance of having good health so as to reduce the risk of serious illness like diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. And not to become overweight. Therefore, it is telling all of us to try to exercise around 30 minutes of continuous exercise every day. If swimming, jogging or climbing stairs are too strenuous or stuff you hate, then go for walks or how about dancing. Both are fun to do, easy and free.

Where to do the walk and the dance?
You can always dance at the comfort of your home.
Everyday you have your 1-hr lunch break right? Eating takes about 1/2 hr, the remaining half, you can do the walk. Or walk to the bus interchange or MRT stations instead of taking the feeder bus. Good idea?

A longer period of exercise, even if they are lighter, start to make use of the fats in our body as compared to short exercises which draws its energy mainly from the body's carbohydrate. By carrying out longer regular exercise and at a easier pace will eventually maximize the weight reduction. We can't lose weight overnight, of course, but at least we are on the right track of losing weight over a period of time and at the same time, keeping ourselves fit.

I am at my early thirties and asthmatic. I just started exercising regularly early this year and in the past was just like taking walks in the morning on weekends with my husband. Age does matter when doing some kind of exercises or workouts. It stresses our heart, lungs and joints. Therefore, it is important to take on the less strenuous exercise which can be done without much stress. Exercising does improve my state of health. No asthma attacks for the last 2yrs.. It has been under controlled and I am very happy about it. I am afraid of asthma attacks as it could cost my life. I want to live life full of zest each day with my love one, now and in the future years. To achieve that, I have to be as fit and healthy as possible.

So have you exercise lately?

"Love is like the air we breathe. It may not always be seen, but it is always felt, used and needed." -Source Unknown

Dedicating this song to myself. ..

Even on a day like this when you're crawling on the floor

Reaching for the phone to ring anyone who knows you anymore

It's all right to make mistakes you're only human

Inside everybody's hiding something

Staring at the same four walls, have you tried to help yourself

The rings around your eyes they don't hide,

that you need to get some rest

It's all right to make mistakes you're only human

Inside everybody's hiding something

Take time to catch your breathe and choose your moment

Don't slide, don’t slide

Don't slide, don’t slide

Slide, slide

Even at a time like this when the morning seems so far

Think that pain belongs to you but it's happened to us all

It's all right to make mistakes you're only human

Inside everybody's hiding something

Take time to catch your breathe and choose your moment

Don't slide, don’t slide

Don't slide, don’t slide

Slide, slide

You brought this on yourself and it's high time you left it there

Lie here and rest your head and dream of something else instead

Don't slide, don’t slide

Don't slide, don’t slide

Slide, slide

i did it again

Can't sleep...

it's entirely my fault..

had gone beyond the limit

shouldn't have opened my mouth...

should have gone for the morning walk...

No use crying even if it bleeds

I can never forgive myself .

Nor am I forgiven

for i never learn

to throw away the ugliest side of me

to bring back the love, faith and trust..& to appreciate

want to feel like falling in love all over again

with my love..

This time, could it be that I was inspired by the ::roadburners::, made me want to try exercising after fasting . So, this evening, I jogged and walked for 1/2 hr.My left foot still not recovered. Never exercise during the fasting mth. I think I know why I got the pain. I have been reading some stuff about keeping fit and working out~ a tiny book given free by Readers' Digest. According to the author,Anne Chalish, warming up for 5-10mins will reduce the risk of injury and improve performance~ which I don't do at all, I mean proper warming up. I know, it's common sense to warm up first but I'm jus a bit lazy for that. Never thought that it would hurt so much. And also, to breathe properly. At times, I forget to breathe. When I was younger, Kevin always have to remind me to take deep breaths.

Running, brisk walking and my another favourite workout, aerobics, will benefit me a lot as I am asthmatic. I have not had any attacks since the last one in July 2002. I have been exercising, that's why. I hate asthma attacks, it so frightening. It tightens my lungs and feel tired from trying to gasp for air. And the sound of "hee -hor , hee -hor" ..

The workouts have indeed strengthened my lungs. When u are healthy and eating right, it feels lagi better. It feels good when you have great body. You can fit into tight jeans and wear whatever u can't fit the last time, especially those from This Fashion, their 'M' size is 'S' to me, ... and best of all, feeling sexy in bed. I am happy with my body but not that "great" ~ got tummy~ it didn't seemed to go away, after all the exercising, plus I hate to do sit ups which Kevin gave up pushing me to do it. Lazy and always finding excuses not to do it. Will only do it at my aerobic class.

From what I gathered from some old friends of my age or slightly younger and married, who used to have good figure and still are, they realised that when hit 30-something or married, the "tummy-thing" jus appear. I feel the same way too, but we could be wrong... hmmm.

My Love, this time and forever

My Lovely In-Laws.

Last Wednesday, accompanied Puo-Puo,Kong-Kong and Mama to the dentist at Blk 73 Lor 4 Toa Payoh. Puo-Puo had her upper denture done and will be ready by 21 Oct. She's 70+,I think, she's way the coolest grandma in the w.w.w. The last time we accompanied her was to Changi Hospital years back..for eye ops.. she walked into the hospital cool and steady, jus like on this day too. She has no fear at all. Don't think I can be like her when I'm at her age. Salute! This time I don't dress up in t-shirt and jeans... people always mistaken me as their filipino maid. On this day, I'm seen as their in-law..

Then, KongKong brought us walk-walk at Toa Payoh Central. KongKong also very steady eh-bom-pi-pit ~ our tour guide for the day. Had our lunch at the newly opened Banquet. A cup of coffee cost only 40 -cents and KongKong will be having his coffee there till the offer is over. He's adorable~ my spunky granddaddy! He walks too fast for the rest to catch up. Asked him to join me to the Big Walk event next year.. he said ok, God willing.

As for Mama... she ah... don't know how to describe .. cute, yes .. just look at her!

Nowhere Fast

Have not really recovered by my tummy ache.. have not eaten since breakfast too. Went to Coldstorage, got food stuff to cook for the coming week..still working on my weekly menu. Tonight's dinner will be Yong Tau Foo Soup dip with sambal blacan, with rice. Ahhh hungry already.. but to eat and watch Singapore Idol... Slyvester.. Rock On!

After ironing clothes and cooking for dinner, decided to go for a jog. Taken too long a break already. I looovveee running to the beat of " Nowhere Fast" ~ soundtrack from Streets of Fire got kick~ about 6:03mins and it really pushes me to run. In fact I enjoy it! It feels like running nowhere but fast.. Thanks to Kevin who recommended the song to be dubbed in my MD. I think I want it to be played and re-played while jogging. See how far I can go with the beat.. Luv ya! Others would be from Collective Soul,RHCP, Hoobastank and Angel Dust. . Today, jogged for about 15min around my estate~ same route..not pretty sure how far but Kevin ever estimated it to be more than 2 but less than 3km..., but never run in the afternoons. The bottom part of my left foot still hurts from the previous SBR's run. How ah like that?

Kevin made lots of new friends from blogging but don't want to tell me, specifically. He knows that I eventually will find it out by myself. But that's ok. There's one that interest him most... "Roadburners" ~ thanks for dropping by and leaving your msg here, and now Kevin got kaki already. He has invited Kevin to team up with his gang in a triathlon. He ever thought about taking part ( macam bagus) but after assessing his physique and stamina & thinking that he has to do all three- run/swim/cycle, plus no proper bicycle and so unprofessionally equipt .. overall i think he will end up finishing the race last! What more he wanted to drag me along.. ha! i will be finish the race the next morning !! But, if one run, one swim, one cycle.. I have confidence in him. He's good, actually ( ahem, angkat my sayang a bit) but needs lots of training la... Old man already.. Heard the swim will be at Sentosa.. ala.. chicken feet for him! It's fasting month though.. well, he can forgo that one day of fasting if he wants to, since this is what he had ever thought of doing. So, sayang.. go for it, man! I will be there cheering for you, maybe running along the shore..like crazy horse!

Almost time to wake my sleeping prince... to eat and watch tv!

Back to " shake leg" again

Woke up at 730pm, clean the house a bit and settle to have my dinner before popping some pills for my tummy. I remembered the last time when I had stomach upset, the doc told me it was not diarrhea or what not, but it was stress.. wah.. new thing.. abdominal stress.. and that was exactly what I told my ex-employer when reported MC. Hehehe... a new reason to support your mc besides the normal diarrhea, stomach flu and what not.. Have to be on soft diet said the doctor, but where got kick.. so today i cooked my own recipe - soup with everything in it, dried tahu(beancurd), soft tahu, potatoes ,cabbage, tiger lily and bits of chicken meat to eat with rice. It's more like children food to me. But anything with tahu.. i like... I am a Tahu Queen! In whatever I cook, must have tahu. Oh yeah.., after working long hrs with no proper food, I lost 2kg. Now 54kg. Let's see how heavy I will get after the fasting month cuz I tend to eat more, plus no work and exercise less or maybe won't be exercising at all.

Fasting starts this Friday. Our habit will be to eat as late as possible, then sleep, wake up at almost to Imsak, have something light and to stay up if need to go work, else back to sleep after Subuh. We do not have the habit to eat a lot during breakfast. Normally, we will drink more and eat biscuits or chocolates. The main course will be much later. We don't feel hungry actually just tired and sleepy. Basically, we'd sleep more than eat. Maybe it's because we generally do not eat a lot on normal days, so there's no big diff or have any impact on diet. As for Kevin, he can go without food but not without PC. He'll die due to lack of information! My family members, especially mum, is so proud of him for being able to complete the fasting month. Last year, he was called up for reservist during the fasting month and yet he fasted. So very proud of him! He's my warrior!

Have to plan what to cook during the fasting month. This Thursday must do some marketing. Have bought 2 giant chocolate bars for Kevin to bring to work for him to break his fast or for sahur. My marketing list will include nice biscuits, nice drinks, chicken meat, beef, bi hun, yong tau foo, lots of veg... and of course, tahu!

Right now I'm listening to Hardline (Double Eclipse) .. got a few nice songs. My favourite would be Everything, Hot Cherie and Takin' me down. They sounded like FireHouse and SkidRow kind.
I didn't get to complete the 7 days contract with Robinson. I left at noon yesterday cuz of stomach flu, food poisoning and diarrhea.. it was a terrible. Working 12hrs was no joke, especially in sales industry. Your lunch and dinner time was schduled earlier. I had to take my 1-hr lunch between 11am or 12noon, and dinner between 4 or 5pm. There's no tea break at all. The warehouse sale drew thousands of customers and the queue at cashier were never ending. The worst day was on Saturday. My tummy ache could be due to the weird makan time and the food I bought at the Expo, which was not covered.. Went to see the doctor yesterday morning and he gave me medicines that was so powerful. Felt drowsy almost instantly, after taking it.. so had to go home to rest. I will miss Lu Ting and Aslina most, and, well there are some of them whom I will be never forget, & so would Aslina, for their fugly attitude and unprofessionalism.

I am still feeling weak and drowsy. Got loads of washing & ironing to do. Got to plan what to cook during the fasting month. But now, all I want to do is sleep. ZzzZzZzzz

Another tiring day... first stop at Robinson's at 10am, then at 4pm at TTSH then, to Jurong Summit, last stop at Hariana's to plug in the house telephone. Reached home at 6pm. I don't mind the travelling. It was the weather that was killing me. The heat was unbearable. I am getting darker, not tanned. Hungry too.. didn't have my lunch today .. and now thinking what to eat for dinner.

Starting from tomorrow up till 10th Oct, will be working fr 9am to 11pm at Expo and since morning my heart has been beating so fast! Got mixed up feelings- excited, scared.. anxious.. all in one. At one point of time, I wanted to give up.. really afraid of the crowd, queue .. the cashing machine.. nasty and impatient customer, etc... etc.. etc.. ahh... whaddadae...!

I will miss the sales staff at Robinson's Men's accessories dept- a bunch of funny p'ple. They each have nicknames like Tengku Abdul Rahman aka Ah Pui, Ah Kong ( uncle Maurice), Pendek (Kak Sabariah) and many more which I can't register... all were nicknamed by Uncle Maurice. After the sale, I will bring Kevin there cuz, they were interested to see him in person. For the past 4 days I was on the job training, most thought that I'm either a chinese or filipino. And when they saw Kevin's pic, they say he has the malay or thai look! And, of course, they say he's good looking... hehehehe... cannot comment..

Got to turn in early tdy. Tomorrow is another cialat day! But now, need to look for food!

First of all, big thanks to AK and Serene. Went to TTSH last Saturday morning together with Serene and my sureties, AK and Kevin, to sign the bond.. and it's back to school on 3 Jan 2005 till Dec 2006.

This 2 weeks, going to be a busy week for me. I am not going to teach Q from tomorrow till 12th Oct, cuz of the temp job with Robinsons. The store is having a warehouse sale fr the 6th to 10th at S'pore Expo, and I'll be one of their 60 employed cashiers. Long working hours fr 9.30am to 11pm.
The pay...? Ah.. jus work of fun.. so didn't really bother much. Anyway how much to expect.. should be standard pay for temps at departmental stores, mah... Well, it's only for the 1st 5 days only.. can tahan..lah. The following 2 days are pack up days, so work fr 8am to 6pm.

Currently, I'm stationed at Robinson's Centrepoint for 4 hours, training to operate the cashier. So far so good. Have not come across any nasty customers yet. I am expecting that the crowd at the Expo will be worst than in stores.. so good luck in clearing the queue! Don't make mistakes and be very carefull with figures and smile...!

Hariana got her maid already, 22yrs old. She don't look confident in taking care of her children and she has no initiative at all. I am worried for her sons, who will be left behind at home, when the maid has to leave the house to send Q to school. I hope the maid gets better each day and Hariana can have some peace at work and not putting on more stress on her. It's difficult to get a maid of your preference. Eventhough though she may be an experienced maid, the employer must not assume that the maid can handle the work and not to rely totally on what was written on the portfolio, mo matter how good they can describe on the maid... just put it this way... she's only 22. At 22, how much and how well can a 22yr old girl carry out housework plus to babysit? When I was 22yrs old, I don't even know how to cook, don't know how to handle kids .. basically, don't know a lot of things.

Just got a call from Hariana.. she tried calling home, the phone is ringing but no one picked up. She wanted Norleha, who is on MC tdy, to help see to her children's safety. But no shiok to get someone not well to do so.. , so I will have to go. No problem... ,I am actually thinking of her childrens' safety at this moment .. Have to go fast, come back fast cuz need to work later at 4.30pm.
